Where you stay changes the rhythm of a trip. Pick Your Seoul helps you compare ten areas through the things that matter day to day: the room you want, what you can spend, how you arrive and what you like to do.

This is an independent Pickworks guide. It is not the Seoul Tourism Organization’s accommodation programme with a similar name.

Ten areas, different rhythms.

Practical choices come first.

A private room is compared with private-room estimates; accepting shared accommodation also allows the listed bed prices. The budget is a nightly ceiling, not a spending target. “Under ₩60,000” excludes ₩60,000 itself; the other ceilings include their endpoint.

If a direct train from Incheon is essential, only Hongdae and Yeonnam qualify among these ten areas, through Hongik University Station. This is a station-level connection, not a door-to-door or late-night guarantee.

After the airport check, we keep areas whose listed starting price fits the chosen stay type and ceiling. These prices are inherited editorial planning estimates, not verified current rates or live inventory. If none fit, the result clearly says so and shows airport-compatible areas above the budget. It never silently relaxes the direct-train requirement.

Then your preferences do the talking.

Each specific answer has an editorial fit of 0–3 for each area. We multiply that fit by the question’s weight: sleep and daytime plans use 3; evenings and food use 2; travel experience, optional train connections and local travel use 1. Room type and budget are practical filters, not preference scores. Taxi and flexible arrival answers do not favour a particular area.

Your final deciding factor adds 3 to the weight of one preference you actually selected. Changing that underlying answer clears an outdated priority. “I’m open to anything” contributes neither points nor a possible maximum. There are no hidden area bonuses or equal-win-rate adjustments.

Equal positive scores stay equal. Alphabetical order is only a display order. With no specific preferences, you receive a shortlist with no ranked winner. If you selected preferences but every remaining area scores zero, we explicitly say there is no preference match. Areas above your budget remain clearly marked in either case. You can compare every qualifying area and edit any answer. Scores describe this guide’s comparisons; they are not booking availability, percentages of compatibility or a prediction of enjoyment.

A few things to check yourself.

Noise describes a neighbourhood tendency. Room position, insulation, events and the exact street can make a much bigger difference. Walking suggestions are not step-free access assessments. Trip dates, room occupancy, workplace addresses and event venues are not captured in this finder.

Transport examples explain the route structure. Check current fares, transfers, last services and your hotel’s stop before travelling. We do not publish unverified exact airport-bus timetables or taxi quotes.
